Throughout the challenges, the company's ambitions and resolve remained clear, allowing us to move forward in redefining excellence in logistics services. Logistics, an important and promising sector that is considered a crucial support function to achieve our Government’s goals and objectives as part of the strategic economic diversification plans driving the next phase of growth.
At AMLS, our Passion for Logistics leads the way in our formulation of customized end-to-end supply chain solutions, each to meet the requirements of specific verticals. We strive to do this by maintaining efficiency and accuracy, listening closely to our Customer’s needs, while adopting the best practices in our industry. We see ourselves as an integrated part of the industry, all working together in our Logistics arena to enhance the Sultanate’s position as a logistics gateway to the region, providing an attractive and competitive proposition for international investment.
Among the success stories delivered by Al Madina, with Allah’s Grace, was the inception, development and operation of Muscat Container Depot (MCD), the first fully functional dry port in Oman, and a model for cooperation between Public and Private sectors. MCD was born in 2010 because of the company’s belief in the importance of the dry ports in facilitating economic activities and trade facilitation. MCD is certified as “Authorized Economic Operator” by Oman Customs as part of the World Custom Association program, and also ranked first in the Economic Vision Awards for 2015 as the best private sector project in the Sultanate. MCD had also started CFS operations in 2014 and “Approved Inspection Facility” for the fisheries products by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries.
The company’s efforts and expertise in dry ports has led in 2020 to the birth of Mazunah Dry Port, under an Agreement with the Mazunah Free Zone (Madayn), a company which has setup and launched its operations with notable speed and has started its facilitation of trade on the Oman-Yemen border. The company’s track record has also led to its involvement as a founding member and shareholder of Khazaen Dry Port Company, the Sultanate’s first PPP Dry Port; yet another example of Public/Private engagement to achieve Oman’s logistics vision.
We continue our journey onwards to lead the way in 3PL, 4PL and Dry Port logistics. As we continue to learn and develop our capabilities, we do so in close cooperation with the Public Entities and Authorities as our partners in the Country’s logistics and economic development.
In closing it is my pleasure on behalf of myself, my fellow Board Members, our Executive Management and entire team at AMLS, to offer our thankfulness and sincere gratitude to his Majesty Haitham Bin Tarik Al Said the Sultan of Oman for his guidance, leadership and his Government’s support of the Private Sector.
