Al Madina Logistics Services Company (AMLS) has energized its 2.1 MegaWatt Rooftop Solar Plant at its Barka main distribution center. Spanning an area of over 15,000 square meters and containing 5,130 Photovoltaic Panels, the system is the largest capacity rooftop solar system in Oman.

“We are proud to be the pioneers in logistics services and dry ports operations, and while we continue to expand our presence all over the Sultanate, our approach is to grow responsibly and in harmony with our society and environment through clean, renewable energy. This plant is the first of several which are planned to be built to power our facilities.” Said Mr. Hassan Ehsan, Chairman of AMLS.

“Our completion of this project is another step in the company’s drive for energy efficiency and environmental sustainability, core elements of our Corporate Social Responsibility.” Commented Mr. Mahmood Sakhi Albalushi, AMLS Chief Executive. “The 2.1MW plant is designed to achieve CO2 emission savings of 2,323 Tons / annum. Being the largest cold chain 3PL operator in Oman, with expansion plans ongoing, AMLS plans to draw at least 50% of its current and future energy needs from sustainable sources.”

“We would like to thank all the Government Entities that made this possible, which includes the Authority for Public Services Regulation for their support and guidance, as well as Mazoon Electricity Company who reviewed and commissioned the plant.  We would also like to thank Design Group Engineering Company and Bahwan Engineering Company for their timely execution.”
