Al Madina Logistics Services
Company (AMLS) has signed with Bahwan Engineering Company (BEC) for the
implementation of a 2 Mega Watt Solar Rooftop project at its main distribution
center at Barka. Spanning an area of over 15,000 square meters and set for
completion in March 2021, this would be the largest rooftop solar power plant
in Oman.
“In continuously striving for improvements and efficiency, we have been studying the prospect of Solar Power for some time to add to LEED structure and operation of our logistics hub“, said Nader Hakim, AMLS Chief Operating Officer. “We are pleased to have finalized the design and award for this project, which is not only a step in energy efficiency, but also an advance in sustainability which we consider as one of our Corporate Social Responsibilities.”
“We are pleased to have received
this prestigious order and are thankful to AMLS for showing confidence in BEC
to provide an EPC solution for this project.” Said Hament Ahuja, General
Manager Corporate at BEC. “BEC is one of the DCRP approved S3 Grade Contractors
in Oman, having successfully completed similar rooftop Solar Projects in Oman
such as those at City Centre Seeb and Qurum.”
Mr. Hakim added “We would like to
thank Design Group Engineering Consultants (DGEC) who guided us on the design
and selection of solar partner. We have the best of faith in BEC and are keen
to see completion and go-live of this project.”
